Happy Thursday!

I didn’t write yesterday, because I had a busy day.  I went to LINKS, which is a weekly meeting that the McKinney Chamber of Commerce holds on Wednesday mornings for networking. I met with a nice lady from a company called “Welcome Wagon” and am going to start advertising my AdvoCare business with them.  I sure hope it works.  My goal is to go part time with Costco in a year.

My husband has a towing business on the side, so I went with him to tow an RV 11 miles from Denton, TX to Corinth, TX.  If anyone ever needs an RV towed, he’s a great person to do the job–Glenn McCall with Alpha Towing (you can find him on Facebook).

I go to Bible Study on Wednesday nights as well, so I had a full day.  I enjoy having time with other Godly women and talking about God’s Word.

Yesterday was Veteran’s Day, and I am a veteran.  I served in the US Army from 1987-1990.  I know I wasn’t the best soldier I could be, but the Army did help me grow up a lot, and I know it made me a better person, and I have a great appreciation for this country.  It really upsets me to see people burning our flag.  If they hate the United States so much, then leave!  See how much better it is somewhere else!  In fact, it should be a crime to burn our flag–this is my opinion.  I know others would say it’s freedom of speech.  Well, when someone burns the American flag, it’s like telling our soldiers who are protecting our country, “Screw you.”  That’s the way I see it.

I hope everyone has a great Thursday!

Got My Stitches Removed!

Today I had my stitches removed at Dr. Campbell’s office. Now I can start gaining some of my independence back.  I hadn’t exercised since I had my bunionectomy on October 27, so I was anxious to go for a small walk (10 minutes) around my local park.  I can also drive again, which will be interesting since I have my surgical shoe on my right foot. I will attempt that later on today, just around my neighborhood.

I had an interesting talk with a man who was walking his dog today.  I am pretty conservative, and he is a liberal.  We are both veterans, so we thanked each other for our service and spoke about our political views, which we were agreeing to disagree.  I wish Congress could be more like this!  Anyway, I enjoyed our conversation, but what bothered me was when I spoke about Jesus, and how I was looking forward to him coming back.  He said he wasn’t, he wanted to live the rest of his life the way things are now.  I explained to him that the reason I’m excited is because Jesus will come back and conquer all the evil that’s in this world, and all will be the way it was supposed to be in the beginning–perfect.  I can’t understand how someone would enjoy a life that’s full of sin and death.  Hopefully, I gave him something to think about for awhile.

Welcome to My Blog!

My name is Lori, and I work full time at Costco, and am also an independent distributor for Advocare.  I am currently on medical leave, because I had a bunionectomy on October 27.  I thought I would give blogging a try, because I like to post things, and I wanted to reach out to people about the great experiences I have had while using Advocare products since August of this year.

I am 47 years old, married almost 19 years to Glenn, and we have a blended family. Danielle (24), Kathryn (24), and Renee (18). Danielle is a travel nurse, and is living in Loveland, CO, Kathryn is in a half-way house in Oklahoma City (that’s a long story), and Renee is getting a nursing license through North Texas Job Corps. I have lived in Plano, TX for 20 years.

My previous experiences include serving in the US Army, Wal-Mart, Dallas Airmotive, Anne Penman Laser Therapy, being an independent consultant with Cookie Lee Jewelry, and helping my husband with his roofing and towing business. I grew up in Farmersville, TX.

I am currently going through, and never had weight issues until I reached my 40s.  I exercise, eat right, and drink plenty of water.  A co-worker introduced me to Advocare, and it has transfigured the way I look and feel!  I did the 24-day challenge and lost 8 pounds and 11 inches (it may defer on other individuals).  I have also gained my energy back, and feel like I’m in my 30s again!  This is not a medical claim, but I had a bunionectomy on my left foot back in 2013.  This year I’ve noticed that my recovery is going much smoother than it did two years ago.  I know losing the weight has helped, but I wonder if the Advocare products I’m taking are helping, too?
