It’s Glow Time

Winter weather can be harsh on your skin, and it’s hard to fit a spa day in during this time, right after the holidays.  You can make your own skin soothers yourself or get the SYS skin care line from AdvoCare.SYS Skin Care

Here are a few things you can make on your own:

Chocolaty Almond Scrub

Almonds exfoliate and provide moisture, while cocoa gives skin an antioxidant kick.

2 cups almond meal

1 cup coconut oil

1/2 cup cocoa powder

Soothing Oatmeal Scrub

Oatmeal is good for calming skin, reducing redness, and easing inflammation. Add more oats for a thicker scrub or more oil for an easy-to-spread paste.

2 cups rolled oats

1 cup coconut oil

Shea Body Butter

Restores skin elasticity, fade scars, and heals cuts and burns.

1/2 cup shea butter

1/2 cup coconut oil

1/4 cup almond oil

25 drops lavender oil (or your favorite essential oil)

Melt shea butter and coconut oil together in a double boiler.  Let the melted mixture cool to room temperature.  Add almond oil and vitamin E oil. Chill in the fridge for about an hour, until it becomes cloudy. Whip into a light, creamy mixture; whip slowly to keep oils from melting.  Add lavender oil and mix until soft peaks form.  This body butter should be smooth and creamy.  Store this moisturizer in a small glass jar, and massage it all over the body morning and night for the softest of skin.
