mnsc I am continuing on with MNS C because my husband is trying to lose some pounds, so it’s only fair that I support him by continuing to eat healthy and get an adequate amount of exercise.  The “C” stands for control (appetite).

Have a good weekend everyone, and may God bless you.

Happy Friday! Are You Ready for a Change?

Stress, kids, jobs, finances, lack of time–the pressures of daily life have caused everyone to screw up every now and then.  Making bad food choices, not exercising, or creating bad habits that are bad for our bodies is easy to do if you’re not diligent.  Hope is not lost, though!  Make a decision that you will make the necessary changes to get your life back on track!  You will have to work hard, better yourself, and make healthy choices so you can reach your goals and be happy with yourself.

The AdvoCare 24-Day Challenge can help you make a fresh start.  The Challenge is a comprehensive supplementation and nutrition program designed to give your body the jumpstart it needs to live a healthy lifestyle.  Most importantly, the Challenge equips you with the support and resources you need to get back on track.

The 24-Day Challenge is so much more than supplements.  Yes, you will be taking supplements, but the Challenge also trains you to become more aware of what you’re putting into your body, and you will learn to fuel your body with proper nutrition, exercise regularly, drink enough water to stay hydrated, and add in supplements to help provide nutrition where your diet may fall short.

You are not alone when doing the Challenge.  Isn’t that great!?  Accountability is key and is what makes this challenge unique.  Throughout the Challenge, you will have support at your fingertips through the Daily Guide, 24-Day Challenge app, and additional tools and resources at My AdvoCare Site.

Change isn’t easy and hard work is inevitable.  Reaching your goals will take time (mine have), but it will be worth it!  Are you ready to take a step in the right direction?  LET’S GET STARTED!

If you say you’re going on a diet, there will be the day you begin and the day you quit.  If you say my lifestyle is changing, you are on the road to a lifetime of better health and better quality of life.–Jennifer DeTracy, Independent Distributor from Washington

5 Key Elements to a Healthy Lifestyle

According to recent data from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, more than one-third of Americans (over 78 million adults) are obese.  That number means that the majority of people in our country are obese!  This is a disease that cannot be ignored any more.  Illnesses associated with obesity are heart disease, cardiovascular disease, strokes and some forms of cancer.  Obesity can be corrected with a healthy lifestyle.  Here are the five key elements:

  1. A Balanced Diet
    1. Easier and more beneficial than a low-fat or low-carbohydrate diet for most people.
    2. Should include lean sources of protein, fresh fruits and vegetables, and limited quantities of processed foods and added sugar.
  2. Regular Physical Activity
    1. Any amount of physical activity is better than none.
    2. Recommended amount is 150 minutes per week (2 hrs. 30 minutes) in at least 10-minute intervals.
    3. Pedometers are great ways to help monitor your physical activity levels and stay on target.
  3. Maintain a Regular Sleeping Pattern
    1. Sleep is one of the most important activities of the day, yet it is the one most sacrificed.
    2. Those who sleep less than seven hours a day are more likely to have weight issues, anxiety disorders, and depression.
    3. The National Sleep Association recommends adults get 7-9 hours of sleep per night.
  4. Stress Management
    1. Stress gets in the way of health and life goals.
    2. Leads to emotional eating, poor sleep, and the adoption of more sedentary behaviors.
  5. Supplementation
    1. Even some of the most balanced diets are filled with nutritional gaps.
    2. Nutritional supplements can be made with ingredients that assist with healthy aging, metabolism, weight management, stress management, sleep, and athletic performance.
