I have lost a total of 39 pounds and 40 inches since August 2015. I love hearing from people how great I look, because, let’s face it, at almost 49 years old, it’s something nice to hear!  There were times when I didn’t lose at all or even gained weight (I had a bunionectomy last October and couldn’t work out for 6 weeks).  Overall, I’ve been highly impressed with AdvoCare products.

Here are some tips for success that I have used so far:


  • Carb moderation:  Keeping carbs around/under 30g per meal and 100g per day will help minimize fat store and enhance your body’s ability to utilize stored fat as a fuel source.
  • Increase clean protein and healthy fat intake as you reduce carb intake.
  • Drink 60-90 oz of water a day.
  • Exercise 30+ minutes at least 5 days per week.
  • Take AdvoCare products correctly.


  • Fish, eggs, chicken, beef
  • Avocado, nuts/seeds, coconut/olive oil
  • Salads or steamed/grilled veggies
  • Rice, hummus, oatmeal, quinoa
  • Fibrous and low glycemic fruit(apples, grapefruit, berries)

Avoid or Limit:

  • Dairy products like cheese, yogurt, milk, white sauces and creamy dressings
  • Wheat products such as bread, pasta, crackers
  • Fried foods, refined sugars, and starches
  • Coffee (I drink a cup because I love coffee), soda, alcohol:  drink more water, Spark, and Rehydrate

Kicking Excuses to the Curb

Jose spent most of his days and nights working, which left no time for his family.

He worked five jobs and wanted to find more time for his wife and four children.  He finally decided he needed a solution after four years of the same routine.  He agreed to try a sample of Spark his friend gave him.

Two years later, Jose still maintains his healthy lifestyle. He left his previous jobs and now runs his own kick-boxing gym, which he opened with the help of the additional income he earned through AdvoCare.

You’re Gorgeous

I have to remember this the next time I’m feeling self-critical.  My so-called flaws, like a flat nose, bushy eyebrows, are unique to me.  That’s how God created me!  My husband finds that those flaws make me attractive to him.

A recent study found that, symmetry aside, faces are most beautiful when they remind us of friends, loved ones, and treasured life experiences.  So, if you’re like me, quit knocking yourself–your imperfections are actually assets to those who matter most.

Getting Better with Age

Before we were introduced to Advocare, we were overweight, unhealthy, exhausted and frustrated Baby Boomers. We had tried so many weight loss programs and were not able to maintain any weight loss we achieved. At 59 and 60, we decided to give Advocare a try because we had to change our lifestyle. When we both completed our 24 Day Challenge we had lost a total of 33 lbs. As we continued to use AdvoCare products, after 11 months, we had lost a combined total of 150 lbs. We are both so excited because now being 60 and 61 years old we finally found something that works. 10 Minutes to a Stronger, Firmer Lower Body
