This morning, my daughter and I went to church. We have a new sermon series titled “Custom Made.” Our pastor is very excited about this series, and now I am, too! I have been called to be many things in my life: daughter, sister, friend, mother, wife, co-worker, motivator, etc. It seems as though my purpose changes every 10 years or so, as it probably does with you.
God’s big purpose with us is reconciliation and restoration. Have you ever had a friend in whom you had a big fight with? Maybe you stop speaking to each other because it’s too awkward after your big blow up. This can only be solved by reconciliation. II Corinthians 5:18-19:”Everything is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: That is, in Christ, God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed the message of reconciliation to us.”
Before you can begin to restore your relationship with God, you must first understand that it is broken because of what we did, not what God did. We have turned away from God’s standards and made our own path. No one likes to talk about sin, but it has a hold on everyone! Any deviation from God’s perfect standard of holiness is sin; sin can manifest itself in our thoughts, behavior, or words. It is only through God’s grace that we can restore our relationship with God.
I will talk more about purpose here on earth, along with other health topics. This has been on my heart all day, and I had to put it out!
I will leave you with a verse from Revelation 21:4: “
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will no longer exist; grief, crying, and pain will exist no longer, because the previous things have passed away.”
