Is AdvoCare Rehydrate better than Gatorade?

It is Memorial Day weekend, which is the unofficial start of summer.  The temperature is now 86 degrees Fahrenheit, and it’s 10:01 PM here in North Central Texas!  If you are spending any time outdoors, it is important to stay hydrated.  Gatorade is a very popular brand, so I wanted to put up a comparison between it and AdvoCare Rehydrate, which is the official sports drink of Major League Soccer.

Rehydrate vs Gatorade

So, based on these facts, I would definitely recommend Rehydrate over Gatorade. Not to mention that Rehydrate has only 6 grams of sugar compared to Gatorade’s 32 grams!

True Story-Christine & Mike Baker

With a hectic schedule and two kids to keep up with, the Bakers were hesitant to sell AdvoCare products at first.  After using the products for two months in 2002, they were excited and ready to share their story. Four years later, Christine set a goal to make enough money with AdvoCare to leave her full-time job so she can work from home and be with her family more. Nowadays, both Mike and Christine do AdvoCare full-time and have been leading the way with Mixers (small group meetings) and a focus on personal development in the last 10 years.  They are expanding their team in Northern California, where they moved three years ago.

Health Benefits on Having a Pet

My dogs, Lucy and Allie, are great friends.   I truly feel their love after a long, hard day.

“The old thinking was that if your family had a pet, the children were more likely to become allergic to the pet. And if you came from an allergy-prone family, pets should be avoided,” says researcher James E. Gern, MD, a pediatrician at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.

However, a growing number of studies have suggested that kids growing up in a home with “furred animals” — whether it’s a pet cat or dog, or on a farm and exposed to large animals — will have less risk of allergies and asthma, he tells WebMD.

Dogs are great for making love connections. Forget Internet matchmaking — a dog is a natural conversation starter.

This especially helps ease people out of social isolation or shyness, Nadine Kaslow, PhD, professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Emory University in Atlanta, tells WebMD.

“Studies have shown that Alzheimer’s patients have fewer anxious outbursts if there is an animal in the home,” says Lynette Hart, PhD, associate professor at the University of California at Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.

“Their caregivers also feel less burdened when there is a pet, particularly if it is a cat, which generally requires less care than a dog,” says Hart.

Pet owners with AIDS are far less likely to suffer from depression than those without pets. “The benefit is especially pronounced when people are strongly attached to their pets,” says researcher Judith Siegel, PhD.

In one study, stockbrokers with high blood pressure who adopted a cat or dog had lower blood pressure readings in stressful situations than did people without pets.

Heart attack patients who have pets survive longer than those without, according to several studies. Male pet owners have less sign of heart disease — lower triglyceride and cholesterol levels — than non-owners, researchers say.

Personally, I have only been without a pet while I served in the Army.  I can’t imagine not having a dog; I like cats, too, but prefer dogs, because they are more loving and obedient than cats.  If you are thinking about getting a pet, I say to go for it!  You will have a great addition to your family.  Lucy, my Belgian Malinois, is my jogging buddy!

Nikki Tigg-Runner and AdvoCare Distributor

Nikki and I have some things in common; we started on AdvoCare with a 24-Day Challenge, and we are now runners thanks to AdvoCare.  Here is Nikki’s story:

Nikki is a mom who never played much with her son because she was always tired.  She was tired of wasting time and disappointing him, so she knew she needed something to energize her.  She took a chance on AdvoCare in March 2013 with a 24-Day Challenge.  She didn’t want to lose a lot of weight, but she said she was a “fluffy momma” and needed to gain confidence.  She reached her goal weight three months later by cutting out the sugary cereals she ate for breakfast and dinner with proteins and low-fat options.  She also became more active.

In three years, I ran a 5K and a half marathon.  Before AdvoCare, you would have never convinced me I could complete either of those.  Taking products like Catalyst and eating more complex carbs and protein gave me energy–Post-Workout Recovery allowed me feel great enough to actually work out two days in a row!

She has taken a break from running due to some back and knee issues, so she focuses on nutrition.  Taking care of her body in the kitchen helps her stay on track even when she’s not at the gym.

My AdvoCare Website

I have completed two 5K runs in the month of April.  On April 8, I received first place in my age group in the Purple Plume 5K run in Frisco, Texas.  Also in Frisco, Texas, at The Star (Dallas Cowboys practice arena), I ran in the inaugural Draft Day 5K on April 29.  There were over 1500 runners, and I placed 516th overall!  I thought that was pretty good for someone who didn’t run until about a year ago!

Tips for Younger Looking Skin

I had someone ask me the other day if I had changed my skin care regimen, because my skin had greatly improved over the last year.  I have always been proficient at taking care of my skin, because I had terribly oily skin when I was younger and acne, too.  Now that I’m getting closer to 50, I have aged some, but not as much as some people my age.  Here are some tips I would like to share with you:

  • Wash with a cleanser that turns skin into a sponge for anti-aging products
    • Mary Kay’s TimeWise 3-In-1 Cleanser-The cleanser combines age-fighting benefits plus three essential skin care benefits in one product, to cleanse, exfoliate and refresh – revealing younger-looking skin.
  • Face Serum-TimeWise Replenishing Serum + C
    • Skin will appear lifted, firmed and more resilient.
  • Multitasking Moisturizer
    • TimeWise® Age-Fighting Moisturizer Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30 offers all the benefits of TimeWise® Age-Fighting Moisturizer plus the added bonus of sunscreen.
  • What you in your mouth is as important as what you put on your skin
    • Greek Yogurt-probiotics and protein
    • Blueberries-antioxidants
    • Almonds-healthy fats and Vitamin E
    • Kale-wrinkle fighting Vitamin A
    • AdvoCare’s OmegaPlex-Omega-3 fatty acids are paramount for core nutrition because of their involvement in the transport of nutrients, the maintenance of healthy skin, and the support of a healthy immune system.
    • AdvoCare’s MNS systems or AdvoCare Core-For healthy aging, joint protection and overall wellness in a convenient strip pack. It is specifically formulated to provide a multitude of essential vitamins, minerals and nutrients for energy and general health.

I do not sell Mary Kay, but I do love their TimeWise line.  If you don’t already have a Mary Kay consultant, you can go to the link and look for one.  The one I use is Rita Wells-Contreras in McKinney, TX.

I have been an AdvoCare Independent Distributor since August 2015.  Since I started using the products, I have lost close to 50 pounds, improved my energy levels and endurance, started running 5Ks (and kicking butt!), and have improved the quality of my skin and overall health.  I would love to help you do the same.  My website is
