Home cooking is the best way to lose weight without ever having to say the word “diet.”
We should all be on a journey to constantly grow and improve our lives–that’s the path I’m on. I grew up with a dad who had Type 2 diabetes, and eating clean was not a choice–it was necessary. I didn’t know what waffles and bagels were until I joined the Army. My parents had a garden while I was growing up, so we always ate healthy. I didn’t gain weight while in the Army, because I was highly active, but once I got away from eating healthier the weight started coming on.
Food is fuel for my body and a source of enjoyment. I try not to base my happiness on food, but when I have time, I really like to cook. It’s my way of showing love to my family. I am not a chef, but I do like being creative with my recipes when time permits.
The 24-Day Challenge is not a diet; if you think that, then you won’t be successful. You make better eating choices, such as no processed food, nothing fried, no white flour, and no soda! It’s about taking baby steps. Once I lost 20 pounds, I gained a new attitude about my life, and I knew I could do anything at this point.
I am now at my ideal weight–now I am focusing on getting stronger and faster since I have 46 less pounds to worry about. If I have a piece of cake every once in a while, it’s no big deal, because I know that I can stop at any time. I am now pretty forgiving with myself.
Today is my final day of the cleanse phase, which is part of the 24-Day Challenge. I feel great and am ready to jump on the scale tomorrow to see if I have lost any of the five pounds I put on over the holidays!
The cleanse phase consists of these products:
AdvoCare sends you a guide to follow when you start a 24-Day Challenge that helps you plan your day. Meal prepping is extremely important, too! It was hard for me at first, but after a few days, it’s just part of my routine. I try to cook a lot on my days off, so I can put them in containers and use them for lunch and dinner. I drink the meal replacement shakes for breakfast.
Make sure you drink enough water for the day (take your body weight and divide by 2; that’s how many ounces a day you need). Drink Spark to replace sodas and coffee. Coffee was hard for me, because I love the taste of coffee, so I have been known to drink one cup a day at times when doing a 24-Day Challenge; I haven’t on this one.
Weigh yourself and take your measurements on Days 1, 10, and 24 to track your progress. I will weigh and take my measurements tomorrow morning. I will change to the MAX phase tomorrow and will be using MNS E (Metabolic Nutrition System for Energy) for the next 14 days. I seem to feel sluggish during the winter months because of the shorter days.
Most people seem to have the hardest time with the Fiber drink. I have used Unflavored in the past, but this time I tried the Citrus. It’s a bit chalky, but I downed it! I don’t let things like that get in the way of what I want to achieve! If you have a hard time drinking water, add something to it like lemon, berries, or cucumbers! Remember to eat clean; no white stuff (flour and pasta) and no processed food or fast food! Fresh fruit, vegetables, lean meat, chicken, and fish are acceptable.
Jennifer Yebra Mallak was an exhausted mother of a 20-month-old son who no longer felt like herself and lacked self-confidence.
She worked nights at the hospital, where 12-hour shifts were routine. By the time she came home, she was too tired to cook, socialize, or even play with her son.
In December 2011 I was wearing a size 16, which was the biggest I had ever been
Something had to change.
She was introduced to AdvoCare through a mixer and decided to start with the 24-Day-Challenge. It took her a few months to give the products a chance, but once she did, she never looked back. She felt like a new person during the Challenge–she lost weight and had new-found energy. Because of her success, she continued taking AdvoCare products and opting for healthier foods after the 24-Day-Challenge. She lost a total of 56 pounds over a three-year time span.
Presently, by continuing a healthy lifestyle, which includes exercise and good eating habits, Jennifer has kept the weight off and is very happy! Before taking her health seriously, she would always cancel or make up excuses to avoid spending time with friends. Now she works out at a local gym, volunteers at her son’s school, and loves spending time outdoors. She also loves experimenting in the kitchen with nutritious recipes to change up her diet.
I’ve learned how to incorporate healthier options into my diet so it doesn’t have to be boring or standard. I can bake chicken instead of fry it and go for whole grains. I can keep up with my energetic little boy and teach him how to live a healthier lifestyle as well.
Easy ways to improve your diet:
Drink a Meal Replacement Shake for breakfast as a great source of fiber and protein in the morning
Eat small snacks in between meals
Try to eat something healthy every 2-3 hours
Choose whole grains instead of refined grains and baked or grilled meats instead of fried
They provide fewer calories per gram than sugar because they are not completely absorbed by your digestive system. Given the consequences of excess sugar consumption to our health and wellness, including non-nutritive sweeteners in some products allows us to produce great-tasting products without the calories.
All non-nutritive sweeteners in AdvoCare products have been extensively and exhaustively tested for health, safety, and toxicity. Why do amounts of certain vitamins in some AdvoCare products exceed 100% of RDIs?
Reference Daily Intakes (RDIs) are the values for vitamins and minerals established by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to ensure adequate nutritional needs are met for most healthy folks in all age groups. The United States has used these values for many years and are recognizable worldwide. RDIs are based upon the Recommended Daily Allowances (RDAs) set by the Food and Nutrition Board, National Research Council, Institute of Medicine, and National Academy of Sciences. Many health experts, including AdvoCare’s Scientific & Medical Advisory Board believe that in many cases optimal nutrition provides benefits not available with merely adequate nutrition. For some nutrients, optimal nutrition is achieved at a level above 100% of the RDI.
AdvoCare sets very high standards in regards to the quality and science behind its products. Vitamins and minerals in all AdvoCare products are high quality and tested for purity and potency. Herbal extracts are standardized for known active components in order to deliver consistent results. AdvoCare uses digestible forms of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and other nutrients.
Our products are manufactured in facilities that follow to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). Quality control and quality assurance programs are part of standard operation procedures for each facility.

Don’t risk over-eating by not shopping for the right things on your grocery store trips. Have ingredients on-hand so you don’t have to resort to take-out. Think about items that will work for the whole household, not just yourself–maybe your veggie stir-fry can be their side dish. Make a grocery list together, even if you’re cooking separately.
Want to buy healthy items at affordable prices? Costco Wholesale has items comparable to that of Whole Foods, but at a much lower price. It’s just me and my husband (and the two dogs), but we buy a lot of things at Costco. They sell high quality meats, vegetables, and fruits at very affordable prices. It’s not bulk shopping either–only 30% of the store is in bulk, and that’s mostly your paper products.
People who eat breakfast in the morning tend to lose more weight. Some studies suggest that starting your day with a high-protein meal — especially warm, solid food — helps you feel fuller and less hungry later.
AdvoCare’s Meal Replacement Shakes contain 200-220 calories, and it’s a balanced meal for optimal nutrition and weight management! Chocolate Peanut Butter is one of my favorites and sometimes I put a banana in it. YUMMY!!! These shakes have 24 grams of easy to digest protein, 50% of daily calcium, and 26 vitamins and minerals. It’s a great way to start the day, especially if you don’t have time to prepare breakfast.
Children 12 or older can use these shakes. Blend with nine ounces of water, put some sort of fruit or even coconut oil in for a variety! The shakes key ingredients are protein, calcium, fiber, iron, magnesium, vitamin D, zinc, vitamin A, potassium, riboflavin, vitamin C, and vitamin B-12.
Warning: Contains peanuts, soy, and dairy (milk) based ingredients. This product was manufactured in a facility that also processes tree nuts and wheat-containing ingredients.
