IS ADVOCARE SAFE AND FDA APPROVED?

Basically, the answer is no because there isn’t a standard approval process in the health supplement industry, and, based on the law, AdvoCare doesn’t need FDA approval.  However, AdvoCare does abide by the same rules and regulations that the FDA sets for quality and safety production.  According to the Dietary Supplement Health  Education and Learning Act of 1994, the manufacturers and distributors of dietary supplements are responsible for making sure their products are safe BEFORE they go to market.

Based on proven and effective science and nutrition, AdvoCare product ingredients are specifically chosen for quality and purity from reputable suppliers that meet the AdvoCare standard of excellence. The vitamins and minerals used in AdvoCare formulas are pharmaceutical or USP grade, with each lot tested for purity and potency. Manufacturing is done in GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) compliant facilities, with exemplary quality control and quality assurance programs.

AdvoCare is committed to conducting business only with vendors who adhere to the highest ethical standards and who comply with laws and regulations applicable to their business. AdvoCare has undertaken actions and implemented processes to ensure that the services and materials provided to AdvoCare meet this commitment.

Also, AdvoCare has formed a strategic alliance with Informed-Choice to certify the products that carry the Informed-Choice logo are banned substance free.

That’s why AdvoCare has been a trusted name for 24 years!  It’s not FDA approved, because the law doesn’t require it, but a lot goes into making sure that the products are effective and safe.

Being a Role Model

It’s very easy to lose track of what you’re eating, how much activity you are involved in, etc.  That was me a few years ago, before I got involved with AdvoCare.  I had to deal with a very difficult manager, and I was stressed out dealing with my then teenage daughter.  I drank to deal with the stress, and that, along with eating too much sugar and drinking too much coffee, caused me to balloon up to a size 14.

My friends, Danny and Pamela Mears, introduced me to AdvoCare and told me about the 24-Day Challenge.  I knew I couldn’t continue on the way I was going, and AdvoCare does offer a money-back guarantee, so I decided to take the plunge.  My husband did it too for the support.  After 24 days, my diet improved, I stopped drinking alcohol, dropped down to one cup of coffee a day, and cut out the sugar.  I lost 8 pounds and 11 inches!  I felt so much better and was able to work out more now that I had gotten some of that weight off.  I continued eating healthier and working out.  This was August 2015.

I continued doing 24-Day Challenges every 90-120 days so my weight could keep dropping.  I had never been this big before, so I knew I wanted to get back into at least a size 8.  I still drink coffee, but I drink more Spark than I do coffee (one in the morning and one mid-afternoon).  I also eat 3 balanced meals a day and about 2-3 snacks a day. I eliminated fried and processed food, too.  I can’t hardly stand the yucky feeling I get when I eat fried or processed food anymore!  It’s not worth it.

I now work out 5-6 days a week, have competed in a few 5Ks and am working on building up to a 10K.  I run 4 days a week and do weight training 2 days a week.  I have improved my endurance and strength and have maintained a size 8 for a year now.  I think those are great accomplishments for a 49 year old woman!  My favorite products are Spark, Catalyst, O2 Gold, and L-Arginine Extreme.

I am doing things now that I haven’t done since I was in the Army, which was over 30 years ago.  Not only am I back in shape, but I have my spirit back and have hope.  I have regained control and can be a good role model to others.

Overall, I give God the glory, because He is the One who gave me the strength during my times of weakness.  I can be joyful in my heart because I know He is the One in charge!  Amen.

My Stronghold

Psalm 27  is a psalm of David, King of Israel, and a man after God’s own heart.  David had a sense of confidence in God, but it was also mixed with feelings of fear and anxiety.  As a Christian, I should accept these conflicting experiences as part of being a follower of Jesus Christ.

David starts out the Psalm stating, “The Lord is my light and salvation–whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the stronghold of my life–of whom shall I be afraid?”

David clearly had conflicting thoughts and feelings as he wrote this psalm. He did have confidence in God, and that God would eventually deliver him from his fear, loneliness, and anxiety; but, he also felt abandoned, and was indecisive, by going back and forth between hope and despair.

Has this ever happened to you in your life?  I know that it has mine!  In Mark 9:24, a man came to Jesus on behalf of his ill son and cried out, “I do believe!  Help my unbelief.”

Whenever you face a difficult situation, remember that Jesus can identify with our humanness.  While He was experiencing deep sorrow and despair in the Garden of Gethsemane, He fell facedown and prayed, “My Father!  If it is possible, let this cup pass from Me.  Yet not as I will, but as You will.” (Matthew 26:39). Jesus felt abandoned by his friends, the disciples, at the time.

This is exactly why He is the perfect person to serve as our mediator to God the Father:

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tested in every way as we are, yet without sin.  Therefore, let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us at the proper time.  (Hebrews 4:15-16)

Underweight? AdvoCare can Help!

Lauren Kirschblum is now a bubbly, vivacious young lady who will talk to anyone.  In 2013, she was underweight and struggled with body issues and self-confidence.

She started using Spark Energy to help her get through the day.  That extra boost helped get her back into the weight room, where she worked on gaining the lean muscle she was lacking.  After 18 months, Lauren had put on 25 pounds, including muscle, and started feeling like herself again. That’s when she heard about AdvoCare’s business opportunity and decided to try it.

I slowly started gaining confidence and realized I’m not just a number on the scale.  I knew if I could go from being underweight to a happy and healthy girl, I could help others.

Throughout the next year, she was intentional with growing her brand and focused on gaining the confidence to lead others.

In the beginning, I didn’t have any confidence and I realized no one was going to follow me that way–I needed to portray confidence to inspire others.  I practiced it so much that I eventually became that person.

Lauren set long and short-term goals to achieve her bigger vision:  she introduced herself to three new people every day, scheduled five three-way conference calls a week and even started 24-Day Challenge Groups every two months to introduce the products.

She spends her time hosting team events so everyone can get to know each other.  On any given day, she will gather teammates for a hike or go out to dinner with them.

Lauren now focuses on AdvoCare full time and explains her day-to-day in seven simple words:  “I make other people’s purposes my purpose.”

Is AdvoCare Rehydrate better than Gatorade?

It is Memorial Day weekend, which is the unofficial start of summer.  The temperature is now 86 degrees Fahrenheit, and it’s 10:01 PM here in North Central Texas!  If you are spending any time outdoors, it is important to stay hydrated.  Gatorade is a very popular brand, so I wanted to put up a comparison between it and AdvoCare Rehydrate, which is the official sports drink of Major League Soccer.

Rehydrate vs Gatorade

So, based on these facts, I would definitely recommend Rehydrate over Gatorade. Not to mention that Rehydrate has only 6 grams of sugar compared to Gatorade’s 32 grams!

You may order AdvoCare Rehydrate by clicking on  My Advocare Website.

Rehydrate is part of AdvoCare’s Active Line.

True Story-Christine & Mike Baker

With a hectic schedule and two kids to keep up with, the Bakers were hesitant to sell AdvoCare products at first.  After using the products for two months in 2002, they were excited and ready to share their story. Four years later, Christine set a goal to make enough money with AdvoCare to leave her full-time job so she can work from home and be with her family more. Nowadays, both Mike and Christine do AdvoCare full-time and have been leading the way with Mixers (small group meetings) and a focus on personal development in the last 10 years.  They are expanding their team in Northern California, where they moved three years ago.

Health Benefits on Having a Pet

My dogs, Lucy and Allie, are great friends.   I truly feel their love after a long, hard day.

“The old thinking was that if your family had a pet, the children were more likely to become allergic to the pet. And if you came from an allergy-prone family, pets should be avoided,” says researcher James E. Gern, MD, a pediatrician at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.

However, a growing number of studies have suggested that kids growing up in a home with “furred animals” — whether it’s a pet cat or dog, or on a farm and exposed to large animals — will have less risk of allergies and asthma, he tells WebMD.

Dogs are great for making love connections. Forget Internet matchmaking — a dog is a natural conversation starter.

This especially helps ease people out of social isolation or shyness, Nadine Kaslow, PhD, professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Emory University in Atlanta, tells WebMD.

“Studies have shown that Alzheimer’s patients have fewer anxious outbursts if there is an animal in the home,” says Lynette Hart, PhD, associate professor at the University of California at Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.

“Their caregivers also feel less burdened when there is a pet, particularly if it is a cat, which generally requires less care than a dog,” says Hart.

Pet owners with AIDS are far less likely to suffer from depression than those without pets. “The benefit is especially pronounced when people are strongly attached to their pets,” says researcher Judith Siegel, PhD.

In one study, stockbrokers with high blood pressure who adopted a cat or dog had lower blood pressure readings in stressful situations than did people without pets.

Heart attack patients who have pets survive longer than those without, according to several studies. Male pet owners have less sign of heart disease — lower triglyceride and cholesterol levels — than non-owners, researchers say.

Personally, I have only been without a pet while I served in the Army.  I can’t imagine not having a dog; I like cats, too, but prefer dogs, because they are more loving and obedient than cats.  If you are thinking about getting a pet, I say to go for it!  You will have a great addition to your family.  Lucy, my Belgian Malinois, is my jogging buddy!

Nikki Tigg-Runner and AdvoCare Distributor

Nikki and I have some things in common; we started on AdvoCare with a 24-Day Challenge, and we are now runners thanks to AdvoCare.  Here is Nikki’s story:

Nikki is a mom who never played much with her son because she was always tired.  She was tired of wasting time and disappointing him, so she knew she needed something to energize her.  She took a chance on AdvoCare in March 2013 with a 24-Day Challenge.  She didn’t want to lose a lot of weight, but she said she was a “fluffy momma” and needed to gain confidence.  She reached her goal weight three months later by cutting out the sugary cereals she ate for breakfast and dinner with proteins and low-fat options.  She also became more active.

In three years, I ran a 5K and a half marathon.  Before AdvoCare, you would have never convinced me I could complete either of those.  Taking products like Catalyst and eating more complex carbs and protein gave me energy–Post-Workout Recovery allowed me feel great enough to actually work out two days in a row!

She has taken a break from running due to some back and knee issues, so she focuses on nutrition.  Taking care of her body in the kitchen helps her stay on track even when she’s not at the gym.

My AdvoCare Website

I have completed two 5K runs in the month of April.  On April 8, I received first place in my age group in the Purple Plume 5K run in Frisco, Texas.  Also in Frisco, Texas, at The Star (Dallas Cowboys practice arena), I ran in the inaugural Draft Day 5K on April 29.  There were over 1500 runners, and I placed 516th overall!  I thought that was pretty good for someone who didn’t run until about a year ago!

Tips for Younger Looking Skin

I had someone ask me the other day if I had changed my skin care regimen, because my skin had greatly improved over the last year.  I have always been proficient at taking care of my skin, because I had terribly oily skin when I was younger and acne, too.  Now that I’m getting closer to 50, I have aged some, but not as much as some people my age.  Here are some tips I would like to share with you:

  • Wash with a cleanser that turns skin into a sponge for anti-aging products
    • Mary Kay’s TimeWise 3-In-1 Cleanser-The cleanser combines age-fighting benefits plus three essential skin care benefits in one product, to cleanse, exfoliate and refresh – revealing younger-looking skin.
  • Face Serum-TimeWise Replenishing Serum + C
    • Skin will appear lifted, firmed and more resilient.
  • Multitasking Moisturizer
    • TimeWise® Age-Fighting Moisturizer Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30 offers all the benefits of TimeWise® Age-Fighting Moisturizer plus the added bonus of sunscreen.
  • What you in your mouth is as important as what you put on your skin
    • Greek Yogurt-probiotics and protein
    • Blueberries-antioxidants
    • Almonds-healthy fats and Vitamin E
    • Kale-wrinkle fighting Vitamin A
    • AdvoCare’s OmegaPlex-Omega-3 fatty acids are paramount for core nutrition because of their involvement in the transport of nutrients, the maintenance of healthy skin, and the support of a healthy immune system.
    • AdvoCare’s MNS systems or AdvoCare Core-For healthy aging, joint protection and overall wellness in a convenient strip pack. It is specifically formulated to provide a multitude of essential vitamins, minerals and nutrients for energy and general health.

I do not sell Mary Kay, but I do love their TimeWise line.  If you don’t already have a Mary Kay consultant, you can go to the link www.marykay.com and look for one.  The one I use is Rita Wells-Contreras in McKinney, TX.

I have been an AdvoCare Independent Distributor since August 2015.  Since I started using the products, I have lost close to 50 pounds, improved my energy levels and endurance, started running 5Ks (and kicking butt!), and have improved the quality of my skin and overall health.  I would love to help you do the same.  My website is www.advocare.com/150823204/

Have a great and blessed week!

Alfred Terry, Snellville, GA

Alfred Terry can outrun his teenage kids, control his food cravings, and has surpassed his fitness goals in two years, thanks to AdvoCare products.

He had heard about AdvoCare from a friend at the gym in 2014.  He had tried other products, but those had failed him for two years, and he was tired of not seeing results and was desperate to get in shape.  He started a 24-Day Challenge and focused on eating fresher foods avoided fried foods.  He had good weight-loss results and continued with his new diet, workout regimen, and products, such as Catalyst, O2 Gold, Muscle Gain, and AdvoCare Rehydrate. He went on to lose more weight over the next three-and-a-half months and felt years younger.

He attributes the 24-Day Challenge with teaching him how to eat right. He used to eat whatever was convenient, with no nutritional value; he now chooses lean meats, fresh vegetables and fruits, and adds in AdvoBar Meal bars or Meal Replacement Shakes when there are no other healthy options available.

Today Alfred works out five days a week, sometimes twice a day, using high-intensity circuits and weigh lifting to maintain his current physique.  He also enjoys getting outside and running trails with his wife..

Alfred’s Favorite Product:

o2-gold Supports the body’s use of oxygen while contributing to increased energy, helping to maximize workouts.
